Do I need to book, or can I just walk in?

Booking isn't compulsory, but we recommend it on weekends and evenings: we're often full. On weekday afternoons you can try your luck without booking.

How do I book an à la carte studio session?

Head to the Book page: pick a date, an arrival time, and fill in the form. No account needed, you pay on site. The confirmation arrives by email straight away, with your cancellation code. Nothing after 5 minutes? Check your spam folder, or write to hello@atelierartichaut.fr.

How many people can I book for?

Accepted Answer

From 1 to 10 people per booking. Beyond that it's a private hire: see the question at the bottom of the page.

Question 4

Which crafts, and do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

Watercolour, drawing and pastel, printmaking, embroidery and mosaic. You pick when you arrive, depending on the day's mood. All materials are provided and included in the price: come empty-handed, leave with your creation.

Question 5

What's the difference between the à la carte studio and a workshop?

In the à la carte studio, you pick your craft and your time, and you come once, for two hours, no sign-up or commitment. We explain everything when you arrive, and we come by your table throughout the session for a tip or a question. A workshop has a theme and a date, and an artist guides the whole group step by step, from start to finish. It's booked and paid online.

I can't draw. Can I still come?

Yes, that's the whole point of a creative café. No level required, most people haven't touched a paintbrush since school. You leave with your creation even if it's your first try.

Question 7

How much guidance do I get during the session?

Accepted Answer

Someone from the team settles you in and explains everything: the technique, the materials, where to start. Then we come round the tables for the whole session, for a tip, a question, or to fix whatever is stuck. It's included in the price. We're two sisters from a family of artists, we grew up in studios, so we know where to start. And if you'd rather create in your own bubble, just say so: we'll only come back to refill your coffee.

What if everyone wants the same craft?

We have materials for several people per craft, so there's usually no problem. At peak times there can be a few minutes' wait for a shared tool. Coming specifically for one craft? Tell us in your booking message and we'll set the materials aside.

Question 9

What are the prices?

Accepted Answer

Like at a restaurant, each craft has its own à la carte price: €22 to €30 for 2 hours, materials and basic surface included. On site, you can treat yourself to an extra surface (a tee, a trivet…), or bring your own: a pair of jeans to embroider, for example. Workshops have their own prices, shown at booking.

Can I give Artichaut as a gift?

Yes. The gift card is any amount from €25 and works on à la carte studio sessions, workshops and the café. Order it on the gift cards page, it's sent by email with your message.

Question 11

How do I cancel my booking?

Accepted Answer

Click “Cancel my booking” in your confirmation email, one click is enough. For an à la carte studio session, you can cancel anytime. For a workshop, it's free up to 48 hours before, with an automatic refund; under 48 hours, write to hello@atelierartichaut.fr.

What happens if Artichaut cancels the session?

If we have to cancel (force majeure, not enough participants), you are refunded in full and notified by email as soon as possible.

Where is Artichaut, and what are the opening hours?

82 rue Lamarck, 75018 Paris, métro Lamarck-Caulaincourt (line 12). Wednesday to Friday 2pm-10pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-8pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Can I just come for a coffee?

Accepted Answer

Of course, it's a café first. A coffee, a tea, a slice of cake or a glass of wine, while watching the others create. No obligation to take a session.

Question 15

Are there workshops for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Wednesday workshop for ages 6 to 12, 2:30 to 4pm, a different craft each week, €25 with materials. From age 4, your kid can also create next to you in the à la carte studio, any day we're open, at the same price as an adult. And creative birthday parties, snack included. Everything is bookable on the kids page.

Can we come as a group or privatise the place for an event?

Accepted Answer

Up to 10, you book online: €35 per person, 2 hours of creating and a drink included, with a space in the studio reserved for you. To have the whole place to yourselves (birthday, hen party, team building), we do private hire on request through the groups and private hire form. We reply within 24 hours.
